My journey in martial arts began in westtern boxing with my father who was a golden glove boxer while in the US Navy.Through high school,and college I studied Okinawan Shuto Kan Karate and Japanese Aikido. In 1978 I began a career in law enforcement working in corrections and as a patrolman  I quickly found out what applied in the real world and what did not apply. I started looking for something else that both fit my personality and applied to the real world. At the behest of a friend of mine in 1985, I went along to A Guru Dan Inosanto, seminar in Chicago,IL. Seeing was believing! I was hooked on how Filipino weapons fit into the reality of a street fight and the efficiency of JKD. I continued training  within the matrix of JKD and Filipino Martial Arts. It has been my privilage and honor to be able to train with such noteables as Sifu Paul Vunak,Sifu Tom Cruse,Guru Dan Inosanto,Sifu Larry Hartsell,Punong Guru Edgar Sulite,and  GM Remy Presas. All of these great martial artist have had a profound influance on me and opened my eyes to what these great arts have to offer. I am currently a Full Instructor/Edged Weapons Instructor and member of the JKD Grapplling Association. I continue my interest in Western Fencing and investigating Southeast Asian Martial Arts . The most rewarding feeling as a teacher has been working with children that have disibilities and watch them grow. and  believe in themselves. Its very personally rewarding being able to give something back. and make a possitive influance in their lives
