Brian Olson:
Biography:
Brian Olson started his journey in martial arts from ages 6-12 in the traditional Okinawan style of sher ae Ru, which traces its roots back to 500 a.d. At age 13 Brian moved to Omaha, Nebraska to live with his father, where he began training western boxing under Golden Glove champion trainer, Noah Singh. This was a huge turning point in the way he approached his stand up game. It brought his hands up and stance much closer together. Without knowing it he had made his first Jeet Kune Do progression.During college Brian took a break from training martial arts, and began working out and playing basketball. During this time he became a CPT, certified personal trainer, and began working with many athletes and individuals in private sessions. At age 25 while in Iran, Brian trained with Sensei Hamieed, who had trained the Iranian Special Forces, and found it to be the most physically intensive workout of his life. This opened his eyes to the stamina behind the skill. 3 years later Brian found his main mentor and martial arts influence, Sifu Paul Vunak. Within two years of meeting Sifu Paul Vunak and Sifu Harinder Singh, Brian received his Full instructorship in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Filipino martial arts under Sifu Paul Vunak of Progressive Fighting Systems. He now trains private and group classes, as well as seminars.
