Chris Moran:
Biography:
Chris Moran has been involved with the martial arts for the last 15 years. His journey started with the timeless art of Shaolin Kung Fu and continued with other fighting system. However by his first teacher’s recommendation he started learning more about the art of Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do.
At the time and a lot of research it was clear si gung Paul Vunak was unique in is his approach to Jeet Kune Do. It was the strong emphasize on concepts and realistic training that stood out above the rest. By 2005 Chris Moran achieved the honor of receiving a rank of Full Instructorship under si gung Paul Vunak at the age of 24yrs old.
The invaluable lessons Chris Moran learned from his journey in the martial arts paved the way for him to start teaching in the heart of New York City. Since 2005 Chris has taught all over New York City from open classes in Central Park, FightHouse Gym, Chinatown, and now currently in Spanish Harlem.
Chris Moran’s teaching experience ranges from training children, teenagers, adults (ages from 18 to 60), beginners, experienced martial artist, teachers in other disciplines, amateur fighters, security personnel, police officers, to both men and woman.
During his training he has had the good fortune to be exposed to other martial art styles that help broaden his perception of the arts. These include the following but are not limited to Shaolin Chin Na, Brazilian Jujitsu, Tai Chi, Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Wrestling, Bagua Zhang, Karate and Tae Kwon Do.
He hopes to offer students a clear and complete view of martial arts through the study of Jeet Kune Do Concepts. By having a strong base in JKD concepts the student will be able to obtain realistic self defense skills (R.A.T.), apply the science of MMA, and finally the warrior spirit of a martial artist.

Chris Moran influences comes from a wide spectrum of people that he has known personally or just through researching their great work in their respected fields. Their influence has helped him become a better well rounded martial artist. Some of these individuals and their body of work are krishnamurti – “Awakening of Intelligence”, Immanuel Kants – “Prolegomena to any Future Metaphysics", Oldtime Strongmen, Carlos Casteneda books on intent, Charles Atlas work on isometrics, The team of pponline – peak performance, Gymnastic Coach Christopher Sommers, and Pavel tsatsouline – “Power to the People”.
