Biography:
Chuck was first introduced to the martial arts at the age of 8, when his father took him to a Judo Dojo run by Sensei Charlie Formosa in Oshawa, Ontario. From there his love of martial arts began.
During his teenage years, he spent 3 years in Tae Kwon Do (Jong Park Tae Kwan Do) (a knee injury prevented him from pursuing the art further).
While at college, he met an amateur boxer, and was taught elements of Western boxing. After graduating from college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Chuck later pursued training in Kosho Ryu Kenpo for 3 years under Hanshi Rick Buchan.
Always on a continuing search for better understanding of himself and the art and science of combat, he started researching Bruce Lee's methods of analysis and observations on combat.
In 1997, he continued training in Kenpo Karate, but started looking for a system of martial arts that was economical in motion, practical and based on scientific principles. He was later introduced to Wing Chun (Bruce Lee's First formal Martial Art) by a friend, and his love for Wing Chun gung fu began. Chuck began searching for books, videos, and the internet for any information he could find on Ving Tsun. While looking for a Mook Yan Jong (Wooden dummy) to help in his pursuit of Wing Chun gung fu, he met Grandmaster Nelson Chan a Christian Wing Chun Sifu from the Yip Man - Moy Yat line in late 1999.<...
