Jason Jones:
Biography:
Jason Jones started training in martial arts relatively late in life at the age of 30. He originally started training in a traditional martial art with the primary goal of getting into better physical shape. His interest in martial arts grew and he began watching mixed-martial arts on television. He quickly discovered that the stuff he was learning looked totally impractical in a real fight, or at least in a competitive cage fight. He decided to explore other schools that were more focused on reality-based self defense. His quest for the best school and art for real-life fighting and self defense brought him to Progressive Fighting Systems (PFS).
In May of 2009, Jason became a PFS Edged Weapons Instructor. Shortly thereafter, Jason became more and more motivated to advance and grow as a martial artist as his wife and family were threatened by a stalker. He became more dedicated to training and was certified as an Apprentice Instructor in January of 2010. He continues to train with PFS in San Jose, and helps teach entry level students basic fighting techniques, exercises, and drills. He also cross trains in the ground-fighting art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
