We have developed high-level training programs for law enforcement at all levels.  Official Certificates are awarded to participants upon successful completion of each program.

Jeff Helwig began his journey in the martial arts at the age of nine.  He is a U.S. Military Veteran and a former law enforcement officer.  Jeff has over eight law enforcement instructor certifications from State, Federal and Private Agencies.  Over the last thirteen years, He has trained and certified over one thousand law enforcement officers, and has also trained individuals from the Navy Seals and other branches of the U.S. Special Forces. 

Jeff is a former World Karate Champion, an expert in Martial Arts, close quarters hand to hand combat, law enforcement defensive tactics, edged weapons and tactical firearms.   He has forty years of knowledge and experience in training, fighting and teaching.  Jeff was the head defensive tactics instructor at a top law enforcement academy for over six years.

Jeff is a proud student and instructor of Paul Vunak; the legendary trainer of SEAL TEAM 6, and trains with him every week to stay on the cutting edge of technology so he can provide the best available training to his students.

Sigung Paul Vunak has trained Under Guro Dan Inosanto as one of his top instructors for over 30 years. Guro Inosanto was Bruce Lee's Protoge, training partner and best friend. Also Mr. Vunak was one of the first people to train Gracie Jiu Jitsu in America, and a proud student of Rorion, Royce, Royler, and Rickson Gracie.

Jeff is also proud to participate in Paul Vunak's Adapt For Life Program where we teach disabled children martial arts and help them to adapt to their challenges.

Through Jeff’s experience in training, teaching and studying many different fighting systems, he has come to realize the need for constant growth and improvement in the advancement of law enforcement control tactics; in keeping updated with case law and constitutional issues, and constantly exploring new ways to use less force, cause less damage and develop attributes to become more effective and professional.  As a result, Jeff formed the “Law Enforcement Counter Assault Training System” to advance towards these ends.
