Joseph Bigley was born and raised in Marietta, Ohio where he still resides with his wife, Catherine and their 5 children. Together they operate P.R.I.D.E. Dojo & Training Center llc. He graduated from Marietta Senior High School in 1994 and continued his education at Hocking Technical College studying Police Science.

Joe started martial arts at 16 in the art of American Karate, earning a 4th Degree Black Belt and eventually taking over with the retirement of his Sensei. During this time Joe was introduced to Sifu Dr. Cary Bisbey, learning the art of Tao Chi Kung Fu & Tai Chi, Joe's wife Catherine now runs the Tai Chi Program in the Mid Ohio Valley area.

Joe made his first contact with Sifu Paul Vunak at the 2002 Sierra Summit, answering a half page ad in Black Belt Magazine. The ad was given to him by a friend that was a local police sergeant, thinking that it would be something interesting to him.

Since then Joseph has traveled to train with some of the best instructors in the world, including Mater Jeff Brown, Sifu Thomas Cruse & attending many seminars by the legend Guro Dan Inosanto.

Joe now is a CEI & Full Instructor in Progressive Fighting Systems as well as an Edged Weapons Instructor. He works with various law enforcement and security agencies in the area where he lives. As well as teaching group and private lessons for all ages and skill levels.
